O-ring sealing rings do accelerate their fatigue and aging process during frequent cyclic use. This is because each cycle is accompanied by the stretching, friction, possible temperature changes, and chemical reactions of the rubber material, which gradually weaken the elasticity, toughness, and sealing performance of the rubber. Specifically, frequent cyclic use can cause to the breakage of rubber molecular chains, damage to cross-linking points, and increased surface wear, thereby accelerating the aging process of O-rings. In addition, if there is a high temperature, high pressure, or corrosive medium during the cycling process, it will further accelerate the fatigue and aging of the O-ring. Therefore, when designing and using O-rings, it is necessary to fully consider their working conditions and cycle times, select appropriate materials and specifications, and take corresponding maintenance measures to extend their service life.
